How I spent my summer.

Weird But True

This what I’ve been up to lately. About three months ago, I decided to put down at least 500 words a day until something popped out. So far, nothing new. However, I’ve found myself drifting back to something I didn’t want to get back into: dark political ruminations inspired by the writings of Hunter Thompson.

That shit’s really not fun or, frankly, healthy for one’s peace of mind. That being said, it came back & came back on it’s own. Thing is, I’m in a perfect position to make something out of it. I’m not worrying about bills too much, so I’m not beholden to anyone. These are interesting times, both locally & nationally, so I always have something write about. I live in a place that could desperately use an independent leftist/bohemian voice.

That shit’s exhausting work to do it properly, though. Furthermore, it invariably invites cranks & buttholes, & that just clashes with my whole “not interacting with society or people, for that matter” thing I’ve got going & come to enjoy. But here we are for the time being.

Like I said, I’m not happy about it, but it is invigorating to a certain extent.
